We firmly believe that art transcends regional and cultural boundaries, serving as a powerful means of communication for expressing ideas about time, politics, and culture. Our gallery is a leading platform where artists can showcase their cutting-edge, experimental works. We have proudly hosted landmark initiatives such as the Sindh Art Festival at Frere Hall Karachi, Band Baja Baaraat at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture in Karachi, and the ‘Extra Ordinary’ a group show curated by Rashid Rana, marking the launch of our dedicated gallery space. Over the years, we have had the privilege of exhibiting renowned artists, including Adeela Suleman, Adeel uz Zafar, Afshar Malik, Aisha Khalid, Ali Kazim, Aamir Habib, Anwar Saeed, Ayaz Jokhio, Basir Mahmood, Bushra Waqas Khan, David Alesworth, Ehsan ul Haq, Faiza Butt, Ghulam Mohammad, Hamra Abbas, Huma Mulji, Imran Channa, Imran Qureshi, Khadim Ali, Komail Aijazuddin, Mahbub Jokhio, Mahbub Shah, Masooma Syed, Mohammad Ali Talpur, Muzzumil Ruheel, Naiza Khan, Noor Ali Chagani, Nusra Latif Qureshi, Tazeen Qayyum, Quddus Mirza, Rashid Rana, Risham Syed, Salman Toor, Wardha Shabbir, Waqas Khan and others. SAMEERA RAJA

Sameera Raja graduated from the National College of Arts, Lahore (NCA) in Architecture. After her initial years of architectural practice, Sameera turned toward the promotion of art. In the past 2 decades plus, Sameera has acquired the leading position as the key gallerist of Pakistan. Founding Canvas Gallery, Karachi in 1999, she has changed the course of art awareness in the country by focusing on contemporary art and promoting Pakistani artists around the globe. With regular shows being held around the year, Raja has contributed in the world of art, through her choice of artists, publications, residency projects and participation in international art events.
Sameera Raja presents Pakistani art in her talks delivered at various forums, art fairs and institutes in Pakistan and abroad. Raja is currently a Member of Board of Studies of the Beaconhouse National University (BNU), Visual Art Department and a Member of the Syndicate at Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro University of Art, Design, and Heritages Jamshoro, Sindh. She serves on the Advisory Council of Asia Society, South Asia chapter and on the Board of the Mangrove Biodiversity Park.
Sameera initiated the advent of the Canvas Sculpture Residency Programmes in collaboration with key corporate partners; which aims to investigate art in public spaces, community and dialogical art.
Sameera Raja has previously served as Chairperson of the Executive Committee on the Board of Governors of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVSAA) & the Board of Vasl Artists Association.
