Internationally acclaimed artist Ali Raza exhibits his solo show in Canvas Gallery, Karachi after 20 years, on Thursday , September 14th 2017 , from 5 pm - 8 pm.

The show titled “ Painting Remains" will continue until Saturday , September 23rd 2017 , from 11 am - 8 pm ( excluding Sunday )

Ali Raza received his BFA from The National College of Arts Lahore, Pakistan, in 1992 and his MFA from The University of Minnesota in 2001.

Ali has exhibited his work in several international shows, a few selected ones are: “Printmakers of Pakistan 1947-1997,” Bradford Museum, Bradford 1997; “Pakistan: Another Vision,” Brunei Gallery, London 2000; “Painting Over the Lines: Five Contemporary Artists from Pakistan,” Indo Center of Art and Culture, NY 2002;“Contemporary Printmakers from Pakistan,” Festival of Muslim Cultures: UK 2006, Oriel Ceri Richards, Swansea, 2006; “Desperately Seeking Paradise,” Art Dubai 2008; “Hanging Fire: Contemporary Art From Pakistan,” Asia Society, NY 2009; “Resemble| Reassemble,” Devi Foundation, Delhi 2010; “Extra | Ordinary 37 Do-It-Yourself Art Ideas,” Canvas Gallery, Karachi 2013 and “From Here, There, and Nowhere,” Rohtas 2, Lahore 2014,“What I think about,” at Katherine E. Nash Gallery, Minneapolis 2017 and “New Pain-ting” Rohtas II, Lahore 2017.

Ali lives between Pakistan and USA. He is currently an Associate Professor and Head of Graduate Studies at SVAD, Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan. Since 1994, he has taught at several universities in Pakistan and the US including National College of Arts Lahore, University of Minnesota, Appalachian State University North Carolina, Virginia Commonwealth University Richmond, Virginia State University, and John Tyler Community College, Richmond.
